The Welch Allyn Electronic Stethoscope- based upon proprietary technology from Meditron AS- provides superior sound reproduction due to its sensor-based methodology. Other electronic stethoscopes depend upon a microphone for sound reproduction. Unfortunately, no matter the fidelity, microphones pickup ambient noise in the environment transmitted through the stethoscope diaphragm and chestpiece.

The Welch Allyn Electronic Stethoscope utilizes a highly directional, recessed pressure sensor which eliminates much of the ambient noise in the environment while faithfully reproducing body sounds in the same "color" as a traditional Welch Allyn stethoscope. Amplification can be varied as desired by the practitioner.

Recognizing the need for improved auscultation skills, the Welch Allyn Electronic Stethoscope is just one part of a complete teaching and diagnostic system. Computer power and auscultation combined at last.

Thanks to the special sounds distributor, the physician can allow students or colleagues to hear the patient's body sounds at the time he or she is performing an exam with the Elite Electronic Stethoscope. With the sounds distributor, up to 15 listeners can review the patient's condition on the spot, creating a powerful teaching tool for auscultation.

The optional sounds distributor aids in educational situations and group listening. It comes complete with batteries and six distributor cables.

5079-430 Welch Allyn Elite Analyzer

The advanced PC-based software with the analyzer captures sounds as Microsoft(R) wav files. These files can be stored, called up at a later date, and even e-mailed. The sound files can also be viewed as charts and graphs, allowing the practitioner to visually compare the patient's condition and progress over time.
